On a dry, hot summer’s day in Clyde, Lexi and Ollie got married!
These two have known each other since school days, and they are absolutely perfect together. I know both families, also from my schooling days, and it was lovely to spend time photographing them both on such a special occasion.
The Clyde Catholic Church hosts roughly one wedding per year, the local priest, Fr. Vaughan Leslie, told me. It’s a popular choice but only Catholics can marry in this stunning wee building, so a lot of couples are turned away. I’m Catholic and have spent a lot of time in Clyde but it was my first time inside the church. It is gorgeous! From the cute old fence and rose bushes, to the wooden pews and stained glass, I loved it all! The church was totally packed out with guests, and you can imagine how warm it was in there!
There are a lot of photos in this post, but make sure you get down to the reception photos. Boy did Lexi and Ollie spruce up the Earnscleugh Hall! I could not believe how great it looked. These guys did the most incredible job of decorating. The lightbulbs hanging above the bridal table were rigged up by the lads, and the tables featured handcut pieces of wood and delicious potted herbs. The place looked a million dollars. I’m still so impressed; I could go on all night about it!
There are so many things about this wedding I could rave about. Lexi’s dress was absolutely gorgeous, the kombi vans were the coolest wedding transport I’ve seen, and the cake was made from wheels of cheese. My kinda cake!
