A DIY masterpiece – Brooke and Aidan’s big day was a celebration of all things family and homegrown.

Eucalyptus foraged from the farm was used as a bouquet, and it smelt divine. The farm was a goldmine of beautiful spots for photos!

The old farmhouse was a delight to work in – big window seats with old wooden windows, the wide hallway and beautiful wooden floors. They don’t make houses with this much character anymore. I’ve always wanted to restore a character home and live in it. One day!

Just down the road, the ceremony and reception were held at Aidan’s parents’ farm. His parents basically built them a reception venue and it was amazing! I said they should be renting it out and hosting weddings there. Way out in the Southland countryside, nothing around but space and fresh air, it was a relaxed and beautiful spot to tie the knot.

Brooke and Aidan did a first look – so we did most of their portraits before the ceremony. It works so well for weddings that are having the ceremony and reception at the same venue, meaning the guests don’t have quite as much time to fill in. More and more of my couples are going this way.

Brooke’s beautiful bridesmaids are her sister Aleisha and her sister-in-law Courtney. They’ve each been bridesmaids for each other’s wedding, pretty special!

What a spot huh. This is Aidan’s parents’ lawn and we could see for miles. It did happen to be blowing an absolute gale up there but I’d like to think you can’t tell that from the photos!

Look at this place! Tell me you wouldn’t love this to be an official wedding venue!

A cake made from cheesecake! How good!
